Fortunately, our kids placed in most categories, but we were very excited to win 1st prize in the Color Guard. Congrats to all participants, you are all winners in my eyes!!!

Hank and I celebrated 25 years of marriage. I can't believe this much time has passed by already. We've had our share of trials and tribulations, but with God's help, we're still happily married. God has gotten us through some pretty tough times. We've both had our share of stress at work, family challenges, and some major health issues too. Thanks to these trying times, we've grown to depend on God and each other. Our family is most important to us. When we are faced with challenges, we look for what God is trying to teach us. We find joy each and every day in the simple things in life. On October 16-19, 2009, we sailed off with Carnival Cruise Line to Ensenada, Mexico. We've ported there many times already from previous cruises, but it was still a lot of fun to run around town, to search for those great shopping deals, and to reminisce the years past. As always, we had met some really nice people who made our trip fun and memorable. We hope to keep in touch with them, but most of all, we're very thankful for what God has blessed us with. I'm looking forward to many, many more years of fond memories.

Tuesday, October 20, 2009 - Grace and I have a long history together. We've know each other since we were kids. Both sets of our parents were very active members of The Gee How Oak Tin Benevolent Association Of America (http://www.ghot.org/), and we remember each other as kids, although we never played together. Since we all have our own share of medical issues, we're reminded of how precious time is. So, we got our moms together for lunch at Cafe Spot in Alhambra (http://www.yelp.com/biz/cafe-spot-alhambra). We had a wonderful time, eating, laughing, and reminiscing. Grace and I always have a lot to talk about, but it looked like our moms enjoyed chatting as well. We hope to get them together on a more regular basis. ;-)

Friday, October 23, 2009 - It was time for another Lemon Butter Club meeting! We loaded up the car, and headed for Pechanga (http://www.pechanga.com/) for their buffet!!! The gambling, shows, shops, are all welcomed bonuses too. But wait!!! On our way there, we took a detour to visit Tom's Farm (www.tomsfarms.com), it was my first time there. We enjoyed the fresh fruit, cheeses, crackers, candy galore, and so much more. We love the warm friendly country atmosphere too. We wanted to save our appetites for the buffet, so we just bought a little here, and a little there... before we knew it, we had a bunch of stuff!!!
.
We also took a detour to the Lake Elsinore Outlets. It was sad to see so many stores closed from the recession. We did most of our damage in the last standing, Petite Sophisticate store, which will remain open until the end of the year (http://www.petitesophisticate.com/). This was one of my favorite stores in Las Vegas too. I plan to go at least one more time... Anyone want to join me?!?!? In the meantime, it's buffet time!!! I'm excited because this will be my first attempt to eat crab in a year and a half. Very yummy for my tummy. Lemon Butter Club strikes again!
Crabs!

Friday, October 2, 2009 - It's football season, so that means it's tailgate party time too! This time, North High School JROTC hosted a tailgate party for the faculty. It was nice seeing our teachers with their families and friends. The staff works hard, and it's great to see them relax and just enjoy the food and atmosphere. Great party, JROTC!!!
