Sunday, September 27, 2009 - Susan G. Komen's Race for the Cure, Newport Beach CA - Donna, Austin, Brady, Tanner, Kelly, and Amanda have been running this race for a few years now. This year, Stevie and I decided to go cheer them on. It was a really well organized event, with lots of runners, sponsors, supporters, cheerleaders, vendors, etc. Even though it was quite foggy in the early morning hours, we had a lot of fun, cheering, screaming, blowing bubbles, jumping up and down. Stevie wants to run next year with them. Does anyone else want to join us?

September 27, 2009 - Today is the one year anniversary of Gung-Gung's passing away. It has been a long year without him. We miss him, but we know he is in a much better place. God said we have to be child-like in our faith, and Gung-Gung has been very much like a child for over 28 years. I expect to see him again someday. We just have to keep praying for the salvation of our loved ones.

Avon Walk for Breast Cancer 2009
Saturday, September 12, 2009 - North High School's JROTC participated again in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Last year they made matching pink T-shirts that reflected "The Momma SooHoo Project". This year they added a Guide-On flag with the same name. I feel so loved by my peers and kids. My strength from God, and he has surrounded me with all of these wonderful energetic young people to keep me going. I've been humbled and honored by them. Thank you!!!

What's up?!?!?

The Wellness Community of the South Bay Cities has blessed us once again with some tickets to see a play at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. This time we were able to see Oklahoma! It was really a lot of fun. It was great to see so many familiar faces too.

It's Back to School time!!!!
It's the last weekend of summer vacation. Of course, that meant our family crammed in as many things as we can during those few days. Happy Belated Labor Day!!! I hope everyone had a nice, safe celebration.
I don't know how long this has been going on, but our friend Donna told Angel... who told me... about this place that has oxtail pho for half price! That's right folks, that's HALF PRICED OXTAIL PHO!!! And of course we "had to" go try it!!! They have lots of other great food too, but only the oxtail pho on special. Pho Vie Restaurant is located in Westminster. We liked it so much, that we came back again and again. Too bad it's a bit far from Torrance. Obviously, it hasn't stopped us from visiting, and bringing more friends too!
Great sign!!!
Here's the large bowl for only $3.50, and it was really yummy!
Margie and Tom were visiting, so we had them try something other than Chinese food.
Stevie, Traci, and Kristen
Where do we start?
Oh my! Looks like somebody is slowing down. Only one more bowl...

After Sunday service, we all went to King's Hawaiian Restaurant for lunch. They surprised me with a cake. King's is well known for their bakery, especially their signature sweet bread and Paradise cakes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Of course we also had our Chan Family gathering. We celebrated Baldwin's birthday too.
Speaking of celebrations, it was finally my turn for the Free Admission Birthday special to Disneyland. I was so blessed that my mom and Ada were able to join me for my birthday... It's a good thing they have their annual passes!!! Yippee to Disney to make our birthdays more special!!!
My favorite ride is still "It's a Small World".
Goofy, I can so relate to you!!!
Thanks Mom, Ada, and Disneyland for a great memorable day!
Jack came by to visit me too!
September 10, 2009 was back to school for the kids of Torrance. I'm sad to see summer is over, but happy that we're all back on a regular schedule again. My Sammi is a junior this year, and she is part of the Varsity Song of the pep squad for North High School. After a long hot day of jumping around, we went to chill at Starbucks.
Noah, Sammi, and me.
Me, with Angel.
September 11, 2009 - Can you believe it's been 8 years since the tragedy? I hope we never forget what happened to our nation, our world. Time does heal some wounds, but this one was deep beyond our imagination. May God continue to bless the families of the victims, to make each day be a little bit easier for them. May God bless our troops who are still fighting for us. May our president and his staff learn to rely on God as they lead this great nation. I'm so proud to be an American. In my opinion, USA is still the best place to live on Earth. May our nation be united under God, and blossom above all others.
